Everyone says "manage your time," but almost no one explains how. Here's what genuinely worked for me while preparing for Railway exams alongside a full-time job.
I used the early morning hours, before work, for the subject that needed the most concentration — usually Reasoning. Tired evenings were reserved for lighter revision, like flipping through GK notes, since that doesn't need peak mental energy.
I also stopped multitasking. Studying with the phone nearby, even on silent, was quietly costing me focus every time a notification lit up the screen. Keeping it in another room during study blocks made a measurable difference in how much I actually retained.
Finally, I treated mock test time exactly like exam time — same duration, same silence, same pressure. Practicing under real conditions is what makes the real exam feel familiar instead of overwhelming.
None of this is complicated. It just requires discipline applied consistently, which is genuinely the hardest part.
