How I Cracked SSC CGL in My Second Attempt

My first attempt at SSC CGL ended in disappointment. I had studied hard, but without a clear strategy, and I missed the cutoff by a small margin. That failure taught me more than any textbook could have.

For my second attempt, I changed three things. First, I stopped studying every subject equally and instead focused extra time on Quant, which was my weakest section. Second, I started taking a full-length mock test every single weekend and reviewing every wrong answer in detail, not just checking my score. Third, I built a strict daily revision routine for General Knowledge, since that section rewards consistency more than intelligence.

The biggest shift was mental, not academic. I stopped treating mock tests as a scorecard and started treating them as a diagnostic tool. Every mistake became a note in my revision file. By the time exam day arrived, I had already seen and corrected most of the errors I was likely to make.

If you're preparing right now, my advice is simple: don't just study more, study smarter about where your marks are actually being lost. Track it, don't guess it.
