Banking exams like IBPS PO and SBI Clerk reward speed and accuracy under time pressure. Here is the plan I followed over six months, broken into three phases.
Months 1-2: Foundation. I covered the full syllabus once for Quant, Reasoning, and English, without worrying about speed. The goal in this phase was simply understanding every concept, not solving fast.
Months 3-4: Practice. I switched to solving sectional tests daily, one subject at a time, and started timing myself. This is also when I began building short notes for Banking Awareness, since that section is almost entirely memory-based and needs steady daily revision rather than last-minute cramming.
Months 5-6: Mock tests and review. I took a full-length mock every alternate day and spent at least as much time reviewing it as I did taking it. Reviewing means understanding why a wrong answer was wrong, not just noting the right one.
A plan only works if you're honest about your weak areas. Don't avoid the section you dislike — that's usually exactly where your marks are hiding.
